About Me

I graduated from Northwest Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and an emphasis in Biology in 2014. I am currently pursuing my Master of Arts in Clinical Child Psychology at Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville and hope to continue on to a doctoral program in Clinical Psychology in 2016.

While attending school, I work as a Behavioral Health Specialist at Head Start locations throughout the St. Louis area. I have participated as a research assistant in multiple studies evaluting the efficacy of school-based interventions for students with ASD. I have also worked as a research assistant and behavioral coach for the UCLA Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills (PEERS), which is a manualized, social skills training intervention for preschool-age children, adolescents, and young adults with ASD, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and other socioemotional problems. I also am involved in a practicum placement as a direct service provider of ABA services for children with ASD and other neurodevelopmental delays.

I am interested in clinical intervention techniques for children with social and behavioral challenges and am particularly interested in working with and developing evidence based interventions for those on the Autism Spectrum. I am also interested in the identification and understanding of factors that impact school success and social integration, as well as the stigma of mental illness.
